Coupé Bibamba is the third (3rd) track from Congolese musician Awilo Longomba’s second album, Coupé Bibamba, released on April 4, 1998. The soukous song was a colossal hit and the album made Longomba known throughout Africa, Europe and America.
The influence of the Coupé Bibamba album around Africa has downplayed the soukous genre name, as the genre is now commonly referred to as ‘Awilo’ on the continent.
