The Melodians – Rivers of Babylon MP3 Download
Rivers of Babylon is a Rastafarian song originally written and recorded in 1970 by Brent Dowe and Trevor McNaughton of Jamaican reggae group The Melodians. The song’s lyrics are adapted from the texts of Psalms 19 and 137 in the Hebrew Bible.
The original version of Rivers of Babylon gained international recognition when it was used as the soundtrack of the 1972 movie The Harder They Come.
It became much more popular in Europe when German disco group Boney M. released their cover version in 1978.
